The Furniture Design Competition 2026, organized in collaboration between ALFEMO Furniture and the Department of Industrial Design at İzmir Institute of Technology, has announced this year’s theme as “Growing Independence in Shrinking Spaces: Designing Children’s Room Furniture in the Light of Montessori Pedagogy.”

The competition is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in the Industrial Design program at İYTE. Participants are required to develop their projects in accordance with the specifications outlined in the competition brief and submit them via the designated online platform no later than June 30, 2026.
