Seminar Announcement

As part of the ID218 – Research Methods in Design course conducted within the Department of Industrial Design at İzmir Institute of Technology, and in collaboration with TAMİKAM, an online seminar will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The event will be open to the entire faculty, and all interested participants are warmly invited to attend.

Guest Speaker: Denizhan Arda, Industrial Designer
Presentation Title: Using AI in Design Research and Design Profession
Moderator: Selin Gürdere Akdur

Denizhan Arda graduated from the Department of Industrial Design at Anadolu University in 2016 and completed his master’s degree in the Department of Industrial Design at Middle East Technical University in 2024. He is currently working as an Industrial Design Lead at Beko.

During the early stages of his career, he worked on the design of military electronic products, armored vehicles, and machinery manufacturing systems. Subsequently, he specialized in the design of white goods and consumer products. He has been actively involved in global product development processes across categories such as climate control systems, laundry care products, and household appliances. Throughout his career, he has contributed to projects targeting various international markets, particularly in Europe, Türkiye, Pakistan, and India.

His professional focus includes AI-assisted design workflows, CAD modeling, visualization, and manufacturability within design processes. His work has been recognized with several national and international design awards, including the iF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, Design Turkey, and İMMİB Industrial Design Competitions.”
