The 6th edition of the National Design101 Project Competition, held between February 22 and March 1 at the Teknopark İzmir Innovation Center, took place with Akbank as the main sponsor. The theme of this year’s event was “Combining Concrete Design Perception with Innovative Thinking.” The competition aimed to encourage students to develop creative solutions, foster teamwork, entrepreneurship, and interview skills. The event was organized by the IYTE Innovation Community.

During this process, which featured a competition of innovative ideas, projects were meticulously evaluated by experts in user experience, content design, and product management: Gizem Türkarslan Ölçer, Derya Selvi, Kemal Doğan, and Burcu Akpunar Tayiz.

The winning team, which included two of our students, presented a project called “Kumbi,” designed to enhance financial literacy among young people and encourage users to save. The team consisted of five members: Semiha Oflaz (Industrial Design, 4th year), Buse Fidanboy (Industrial Design, 4th year), İrem Ece Okur (Architecture, 3rd year & Industrial Design Minor), Bensu Beliz Meskener (Architecture, 4th year), and Emine Göğüsger (Industrial Design, 1st year).
