Within the scope of Marble İzmir – International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, at the 8th edition of the International Different Natural Stone Design Competition, a team composed of our second-year students—Büşra Kılınçarslan, Ulviye Akgül, and Arda Deniz Yücel—was awarded second place with their project titled “Strata.”

In addition to a monetary award of 130,000 TL, our students were granted the “Design Registration Award” and a 70-hour certified software training. Through their innovative design approach, they have proposed a compelling framework aimed at enhancing the added value of natural stone. This achievement represents not only an individual success but also a tangible outcome of our department’s design-, research-, and production-oriented academic approach.

Organized through the collaboration of İZFAŞ and Aegean Exporters’ Associations, the competition encourages the reinterpretation of natural stone through design, while aiming to integrate young designers into the industry.

We sincerely congratulate our students on this meaningful accomplishment and wish them continued success in their future endeavors in design, research, and production practices.
