Dr. Ece Altınbaşak Haklıdır is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at Doğuş University, Istanbul. She holds a Ph.D. in Design from North Carolina State University, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar. Her research focuses on environmental psychology, participatory design, and design education, emphasizing user-centered and socially responsive approaches to spatial design. Dr. Haklıdır primarily teaches first-year design studios and the Urban Design Studio at Doğuş University, and Participatory Design and Environmental Psychology at Istanbul University. Haklıdır has participated in several international research and design projects supported by U.S. institutions, focusing on social capital and community-based design. Her work seeks to connect theory and practice through inclusive design methods that foster dialogue between designers, users, and communities.
